Dua Leciono: Substantivoj kaj verboj
Lesson Two: Nouns and Verbs
In any language, sentences are about people, places, and things (nouns) and their actions (verbs). In Esperanto, each word carries a grammatical ending that shows its function in the sentence.
a Subject an Action an Object
A man reads books.
Viro legas librojn.
Subjects
All singular nouns end with -o. This is the most basic noun ending. When the noun is plural, add the plural ending -oj.
Objects
Singular objects end with -on. When the noun is plural, the ending is -ojn(*).
