Lesson Eight: A Conversation

We have now learned enough about Esperanto to understand almost all of the grammatical features of a typical textbook conversation. In the next few pages, we will examine the following conversation in some detail:

                Hello, friend! Saluton, amiko!
                     Good Day! Bonan tagon!
            How are you doing? Kiel vi fartas?
   Very well, thanks. And you? Tre bone, dankon. Kaj vi?
    Well enough. Are you going Suficxe bone. Cxu vi iras
                to the office? oficejen?
No, I'm not working today. I'm Ne, mi ne laboros hodiaux. Mi
           going to the beach. iras al la plagxo.
      OK!  Well, I have to go. Bone! Nu, mi devas iri.
                      Goodbye. Adiaux.
