Articles and Verbs
The definite article (the word "the") is la in Esperanto, regardless of whether the noun is singular or plural. There is no indefinite article (the word "a") in Esperanto at all!
a paper papero the paper la papero
Papers paperoj the papers la paperoj
The TENSE (time) of the verb is also indicated by a grammatical ending:
Present: -as speaks: parolas
Past: -is spoke: parolis
Future: -os will speak: parolos
All nouns, and all verbs, obey these rules, without exception, in every sentence.
