Here are some new vocabulary words. From now on, each lesson will include about twenty new words.
man viro warm varma do/make far-

child infano green verda meet renkont-
water akvo heavy peza speak parol-
friend amiko important grava to be est-
This last root, est-, is as important in Esperanto as the verb
"to be" is in English. But unlike English, it is always the same: "I am" is mi estas, "you are" is vi estas, "he is"
is li estas, and so on. This verb does not take a direct object, as no action is taking place. Thus "They are children" is Ili estas infanoj.
