Questions
The other kind of question comprises the "journalism" words like
"who" , "what", "when", "where", "how", and "why".
Here are some examples of these questions:
What is your name? Kio estas via nomo? (*)
What kind of computer is it? Kia komputilo gxi estas?
Who will come with me? Kiu venos kun mi? (*)
Which book is red? Kiu libro estas rugxa? (*)
How much did he see? Kiom li vidis?
When will you drink? Kiam vi trinkos?
Why are you green? Kial vi estas verda?
How did he do it? Kiel li faris gxin?
Whose hat is the black one? Kies cxapelo estas la nigra?
These words are part of a system of "correlatives".
They serve the same functions as words like "here/there/where/nowhere" do in English, but are much more systematic -- as if the word for "never" were normally "nowhen".
