The symposium will be held on the campus of the University of British Columbia. It is the largest university in Canada and is located on a peninsula in the west part of Vancouver surrounded by beaches on one side and parkland on the remaining sides. It is 10 to 15 minutes from downtown, and 15 to 20 minutes from the Vancouver International Airport. The setting of the city of Vancouver is one of the most beautiful in the world, with breathtaking mountains, sparkling beaches, tourist attractions, and one of the most cosmopolitan dining areas in North America. The average daily high temperature in June is about 18 degrees Celsius (about 65 degrees F).
