The issue of defining the data part was discussed at length. There was
agreement towards a small and simple data definition language, including
built-ins. The latter must be defined in the language and here special
syntactic/semantic treatment needed for conciseness and readability. Some
points that emerged are:

Built-ins to include: booleans, bits, integers, enumeration, characters.

Built-in composed types: records, arrays, lists, character strings.

Partially defined functions. A majority consensus is that partial functions,
and applications of functions must be treated in

It is considered to be very desirable that a clear interface mechanism
towards other languages be defined, e.g. towards ASN.1, IDL, SDL.
